Colored lithograph - Battle of Gettysburg

1863
1863, hand colored stone lithograph by F. P. Whiting of the third day of the Battle of Gettysburg including both the American Flag and the Confederate National Flag.  In wooden frame under glass, ~ 24" X 16".
Titled "BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG, PA. JULY 3 1863", with a caption describing the action, "....ending in the complete rout and dispersion of the Rebel Army."  The American Flag and the Confederate National Flag – the Stars and Bars - can be seen still flying over the rebel troops.
This lithograph has a footer that reads “Published by F. P. Whiting of Fulton St, N. York” and two other retailers besides Whiting (E.B & E. C. Kellogg of Hartford, Phelps & Watson of New York City), yet it appears to be identical to the Currier & Ives print issued with the same title and subtitle at the same period.
