"The New Haven Gazette and the Connecticut Magazine" was a newspaper published weekly from February 1786 to June 1789. It was founded and published by Josiah Meigs and Eleutheros Dana, This edition of the paper, published in September of 1787, has the typical content of late 18th century newspapers - including local, national, and international news stories, extracts from literature, and advertisements for goods and services. Most notable are two ads offering a reward for the return three enslaved people, Amos, Peter, and Solomon who fled from their enslavers in Fairfield, Connecticut and Southampton, New York.
