Small, thin, four-sided sherd; off-white glaze; brown underglaze bands and top of flower visible; underglaze bands on both exterior and interior of lip of sherd. Possibly part of cup or saucer.

Part of a collection of artifacts dug from rear of Chaffee House. Donor found them while digging a garden when she resided there as a faculty member of the Loomis Chaffee School.

Abbott Cummings noted it as "earliest."
