Map was prepared, copyrighted, and published by Alfred E. Schindler of Ellington, CT and Dorothy B. Cohen of Ellington, CT. Scale: 1' = 1,000 feet

Present day Ellington roads are superimposed over the original may layout. Sources: original land division surveys, Indian deeds, General Court and Assembly transcripts, Minutes of Proprietors and Town Meetings, land grants and deeds, and other colonial Public Acts and Records were used as basis for this map. A brief history of Ellington, the town seals, and an inset map showing the early division of that portion of Windsor lying east of the Great River (ie. including East Windsor and South Windsor areas.)

The Parish of Ellington was set off from Windsor in October 1735. The map was presented to the Townspeople of Windsor on Dec. 5, 1985 in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of this separation. Map is 66" x 36"
