Part of clay pipe stem; number one imprinted onto it; hollow core; white.

Part of a collection of artifacts dug from rear of Chaffee House. Donor found them while digging a garden when she resided there as a faculty member of the Loomis Chaffee School.

Abbott Cummings noted it as "earliest."
