Small, tin-glazed earthenware sherd; white glaze; small underglaze blue flower (three dots around stem) on one side; split -- no glaze on back.

Part of a collection of artifacts dug from rear of Chaffee House. Donor found them while digging a garden when she resided there as a faculty member of the Loomis Chaffee School.

Abbott Cummings noted it as "earliest."
